Whose We Are – Acts 27:23

“For this very night there stood before me an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I worship” Acts 27:23

“The God to whom I belong”…it’s a phrase of complete confidence. In Christ, we know Whose we are. It reminds me of 2 Timothy 2:19, “The Lord knows those who are his.” It’s become one of my favorite verses. We belong to God, and He knows those who are His. He knows us. He sees us. His is a role of ownership, of responsibility, of intentional care. Our God takes personal notice of us. He is very aware of us and our circumstances.

This helps to settle our soul in times of anxiety and confusion. Because we know we are seen. We know we are understood completely. God is not going to overlook us, because we are His.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand” (John 10:27-29).
