Enough – Philippians 1:6

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6

“This I know, that God is for me” Psalm 56:9b

If God is for me, and if He has begun a good work in me that He will bring to completion, then I can trust Him to be at work to that end in all the details of my life. It’s easy for me to look around and think I need more than Christ to get where I need to be. To be strengthened in faith, emboldened in witness, and empowered in living a life that honors Him.

But God is enough. He does send others into our lives who are a part of His accomplishing His purposes in us. People to challenge and encourage us. Authors to highlight His grace and truth and help us apply them to our daily lives. But at the end of the day, God is enough. He is able to fulfill every purpose He has for your life. Even if it seems like He may have missed an important detail, like there was a better way to get there. He knows what He’s doing in your story. He has purposed these circumstances to showcase His glory and strength within you.

So let us rise today and trust Him. Completely.

Lord, Your plans for us are perfect. They are the plans of Your heart and are characterized by Your faithfulness and steadfast love. You are in the process of completing the good work You have begun in us, that work which will make us like Christ. Help us to trust You fully in this. Quiet us with Your perfect love. Calm our anxiety. Remind us that this is Your work and You will never let us down. You are for us, and we can stand on that truth.
