“And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all.”
Jesus has power great enough to heal us all. But to receive this healing, healing that is complete, that cleanses and restores and beautifies, we must come to Him. We must reach out to Him.
Our Savior does not offer a blanket, one-size-fits-all healing. His healing for each of us, His healing for you, is personal. It is Jesus Christ grasping your hand and lifting you out of the mire. It is Him seeing all of your brokenness—even that which you do not see—and carefully mending each scar, filling every empty space with all the fullness of God.
We are sought out by our Lord. He draws our hearts to Him. But we must make the choice to seek Him in return, to reach out to the One who is reaching out to us. This great God who holds all things together.
“To whom then will you compare me,
that I should be like him? says the Holy One.
Lift up your eyes on high and see:
who created these?
He who brings out their host by number,
calling them all by name,
by the greatness of his might,
and because he is strong in power
not one is missing.”
This is our God. His power is greater than we can imagine. And it is this great power, mighty enough to hold the stars in place, that comes into your life to heal you perfectly. Reach out to Him. Trust Him. Believe in who He is, all He has done, and all He has said He will do. You will experience “the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come” (Ephesians 1:19-21).
His power is great enough to heal you and His greatness is enough to fill every void. There are many places we may run in search of healing and satisfaction, but only One who will truly heal and fully satisfy. The One who lives forever and ever, the One who will never leave, and the One whose steadfast love will never fail to uphold you.
